Mark McGinnis, an old settler and highly respected citizen of the county residing two miles southwest of Wapello, died last Friday evening. The funeral services were held at his late home Monday afternoon conducted by Father Jacobmier, of Washington. Mr. McGinnis came to this country from Ireland in an early day and settled in Louisa county in 1856. He was held in the highest esteem by his neighbors and friends and his good deeds will live after him.
