Mrs. Mary Archibald of Wapello, wife of former auditor Archibald, died very unexpectedly at her home Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock. She was taken sick only the day before, and her death came as a shock to the whole community; a terrible one to her family. Her death was the result of neuralgia of the stomach. Her maiden name was Mary Frances Crilley. She was born in Licking county, Ohio, December 17, 1839. Her father died while she was very young, and later her mother became the wife of Levi Bozman, long a well known resident of Wapello township. She came with her parents to Iowa in the fall of 1853, when a girl of thirteen. She attended school that winter at the old Bethel log church, five miles south of Wapello. Among the pupils was her future husband. it was fifteen years later, May 19, 1968, that they were united in marriage. Their home, ever after, was in Wapello. This was always Mr. Archibald's home; he never cast a ballot at any other place. Five children were born to them, four sons and one daughter. The daughter, Miss Ada, has always lived at home. At the time of her mother's death, she was enjoying a visit with some of her brothers, who live in Chicago and other friends of that place. A telegram brought her and her brothers home early the following morning. All are now at home and took part in the funeral services which took place this afternoon. Her death removes the last of the Bozman- Crilly family; all the others, father, son, two daughters and mother having died years ago. Mrs. Bozman, the last survivor, except Mary, passed away in 1895.
