Lizzie E. Scott Dies On Fourth of July
Lizzie Estella Scott, 87, who lived all her life in and around Marion until two years ago, died on the Fourth of July in Orange, Calif., where she moved from Marion.
Born on a farm near Marion, August 14, 1859, she was the sixteenth child of 17 children born to Capt. and Mrs. Rufus H. Lucore. She married William Walter Scott who died in Marion, June 27, 1932. Two children, Arthur and Jennie May, preceded her in death.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph Lucore of Ripley, N.Y.
Funeral services were held at the Yocom chapel Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. C.V.R. De Jong officiated. Burial was in the Oak Shade cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Wightman, Dr. L.C. Dow, Joseph Stoddard, William Reep, Ray Jordan and Ed Paul.
