Zula A. Huffman Died Early Friday
Miss Zula A. Huffman, a lifelong resident of Linn county and a resident of Marion for many years, died Friday morning in Cedar Rapids following a long illness.
She was born on a farm near Marion January 7, 1867, one of the six daughters of James and Amelia Bunting Huffman. For many years, she made her home with her sister, Lenna, so long city librarian here, but for the past three years has been living with a niece, Mrs. James Logan of Traer. She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Morris Howe of Marion and Mrs. Howard Marshall of Minneapolis. The three sisters preceding her in death were Mrs. Samuel Miller of Robins, Mrs. Charles Nash and Miss Lenna Huffman of Marion. She was a member of the local Baptist church.
Funeral services were held Sunday at two p.m. from the Yocom chapel with Rev. L.W. Inman in charge of the services. Burial was in Oak Shade.
Out-of-town relatives and friends here to pay tribute to her memory were Mr. and Mrs. Frank McLeod and children and Mr. and Mrs. James Logan of Traer, Helen Marshall of Minneapolis, Mrs. Alma Jones of Ames, Lawrence Jones of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. C.V. Howe, Mrs. Ben Moates and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Bunting of Cedar Rapids, Mr. and Mrs. Neal Miller of Robins, Mr. and Mrs. Fern Mitchell of Rowley, and Mr. and Mrs. Bert Whitcomb and Miss Lenna Whitcomb on Springville.
