Is anyone able to tell me if a school existed in the Lee County area called Hamilton? I came across a school photo that appears to be vintage 1920's. It has 36 identified students by first and last name. In the front is a slate board marked "HAMILTON 3". Some of the surnames are common but I find that there is one named Irwin Nagel for which I found a rootsweb record that he may have been born in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa in 1895. Another is a Ray Blan that may match Raymond Blan who died in 1978 in Keokuk, Lee County, Iowa. Right now, it is possible this class photo was taken in Lee County, Iowa. Many
different surnames except for a Herschel and Neta Denton and an Earl and Kenneth Wilson. Unique surnames include Ceurden, Scannell, Ulick, Vorrhies (as spelled). Any inquiries or information, I'd love to hear from you either here or directly at my email.
Thank you!
