Keokuk people were shocked Saturday to learn of the death in Peoria of Mrs. Johannah Marie Busch, daughter of Mrs. Marie Radasch, and sister to Mrs. E. C. Weisman and George E. Radasch of this city. Mrs. Busch spent the Christmas holidays in Keokuk, and had returned to her home, accompanied by her mother, when death summoned her Saturday.
Mrs. Busch was a member of the Radasch family, old and respected residents of Keokuk. She was a loving wife and a kind and devoted mother, and her passing brings sorrow to her friends and neighbors both here and in Peoria.
Johannah Marie Radasch was born in Berlin, Germany, December 15, 1864. With her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ephraim Radasch, she came to America in January of 1868, and later to Keokuk. She resided here with her parents until her marriage to Fred Busch of Peoria, which occurred September 17, 1894. Mrs. Busch made her home in Peoria. Her husband died there seven years ago, also two children, Herrforth and Dorothy.
Mrs. Busch was a member of Rebekah lodge of Odd Fellows and a member of the First Church of Christ, Scientist. Relatives surviving are her son, Edwin Busch, 14 years old; her mother, Mrs. Marie Radasch; sister Mrs. E. C. Weisman, both of Keokuk, and four brothers, George E. Radasch of Keokuk, Edmund J. and David Radasch of Springfield, Mass., and Dr. Henry E. Radasch of Philadelphia, Pa.
Funeral services were held in Peoria today, with interment in the Springdale cemetery. The pallbearers were her three brothers, George, Edmund and David Radasch, Wingfield Wallace, Benjamin Kellerstraus and David Spring.
