Charles McCann, 75, dropped dead on Anamosa's Main street about 6:30 o'clock Thursday morning. McCann, who stayed at the Morning rooming house on South Garnavillo street, had been down town for breakfast and had gone back as far as the Reliance Club rooms, when he dropped dead.

McCann had been at Morning's since last January. Previous to that time he had lived with W. A. "Billy" Hogan for 26 years.

Body is at the Loder Funeral Home pending funeral arrangements.

McCann was the son of Dan and Mary McCann. He was born in Anamosa on Feb. 25, 1872.

Funeral service for Charles McCann, 75, who died from an attack of heart disease early last Thursday morning, was held Saturday morning at the Loder Funeral home. Rev. Ivan Boyd officiated at the brief rites and burial was made in Holy Cross cemetery.

Pallbearers were P. G. Morning, Arthur Lake, Frank Cooper, Price Blayney, James McKeone and Lawrence Comey.

McCann was the son of Dan and Mary McCann. He was born in Anamosa Feb. 25, 1872. He had worked for the city for many years. He had lived with W. A. "Billy" Hogan for 26 years prior to last January when he moved to the Morning rooming house.

None of his immediate family survives.
