MONTICELLO - Funeral services for Will Schneiter, who died Oct. 29, were held Nov. 1 from Goettsch Funeral home in Monticello. The Rev. John Siegle, pastor of the Evangelical and Reformed church officiated. Burial was made at Oakwood cemetery.

Born May 12, 1896 near Monticello, he was the son of David and Luise Renk Schneiter. He attended the rural schools of this area and served with the U.S. Army during WWI. He was married to Elizabeth Mettler April 12, 1926 at the E & R church in Monticello. They farmed near Monticello until moving to town in 1940. He had been an invalid for the past 23 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, five brothers and one sister.

Survivors include his wife Elizabeth; one son, John of Monticello; two daughters, Margaret Schneiter of Monticello, and Mrs. Elmer (Hilda) Busch of Lost Nation and four grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister, Mrs. George E. Mardorf and one brother Fred Schneiter both of Monticello.

Pallbearers were George Schneiter, Paul Schneiter, Harold Schneiter, Howard Schneiter, Edwin Stiffler and Richard Mardorf.
