Requiem Mass for Edward J. Lavey, 71, was held Wednesday morning at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Anamosa, Rev. J. A. McMahon officiating.

Mr. Lavey died Sunday at Omaha, Nebr., where he had made his home the last 24 years. He had been ill about three weeks.

McNamara Funeral Home was in charge of the service. Burial was made at Holy Cross cemetery. Pallbearers were Milton Chesire, John Hanlon, Jack Neville, Mike Marting, Phil Daly and John McNamara.

Mr. Lavey was born Feb. 27, 1875, at Anamosa, son of the late Charles and Rosie Doran Lavey.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Jerald, residing in Omaha.

Rosary was recited Tuesday evening at the McNamara Funeral Home.
