Funeral service for John Flaherty, 60, who died Wednesday noon at Mercy hospital, Anamosa, following a long illness, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick's Catholic church in Anamosa. Rev. Fr. J. A. McMahon will officiate, assisted by Rev. Fr. Ivan Boyd. Burial will be made at Holy Cross cemetery. Body is at Loder Funeral Home where Rosary will be read at eight o'clock Friday evening.

John, son of Ed and Eva Flaherty, was born Feb. 24, 1885, on a farm near Cass center. He attended the West Cass school.

On Feb. 24, 1916, he was married to Agnes Benson, Prairieburg, who survives. They have no children. Other survivors are three brothers, Frank, Harry and Eugene all of Anamosa, and a sister, Eva, also of Anamosa. A sister, Bessie, preceded him in death.

Mr. Flaherty was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church in Anamosa.
