Thank you for your response. What I posted was 100 per cent of the information I have. During her life, my mother's adoption was a SECRET. I loved and was proud of my grandparents. I did not know she was adopted until my brother, who is also an attorney,died, and her paper, which my other brother has in his possession, was located. My living brother told me the white cross home, and just mary marcella. This was 100 years ago, is it possible there was a white cross home then? My mother's adoptive father was a justice on the Iowa Supreme Court and he saw to it that these papers were sealed. Can I now appeal to get this information? I tried to find it on some handwritten records of births in Johnson County and struck out. Your comment and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you, Linda
