Debra,
I hope for your sake that they weren't horse thieves and that you find them! It's too bad that you don't have their middle name. The Daniel Ross you referred to in the 1860 census age doesn't match up? If he was 34 yr. old in 1860, he would have been born 1826 or 1827. Did you notice that? I also found an link that might interest you. Unfortunately, there's not much information included for Iowa, but the webmaster may be able to help you find records.
