Our beloved Bishop Martin King Kilima passed away on Tuesday June 21st 2022 in Iowa City, IA. At his time of death, he was living in Iowa City, IA. Bishop Martin passed away after a long battle of illness. Martin was a beloved Father, a best friend, and a mentor. Martin was admired and loved by all that he met along his journey here on this earth.

Bishop Martin King Kilima was born in Fizi, Congo on June 6th 1959. He was the first born of 11 children of Loheya Frederick Elema and Maria Mmbungwe Bosolo. Martin King is survived by his eight brothers and three sisters. Bishop Martin King Kilima was Mbembe Mbondo Mshaenge Bashimboka, family of Bashipindela.

Martin King attended school in Kalemie, Congo he studied Commercial and Administrative. Martin King was a devoted follower of Christ, he was involved with the church, and begin his ministry at age 18.

Martin King married Masoka Benita in Congo Uvira. Benita was the daughter of Abedi Prosper Waembwe and Zabibu Kayanda. Masoka Benita was Mbembe Mbondo MSHI M’MUMA Banenge, a sister to 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Martin King and his family moved to Tanzania, and then immigrated to the United States in 2010.
Martin King is survived by his five sons; Michael Kilima, Abedi Kilima, Don Kilima, Oliver Kilima, David Kilima, his daughters; Grace Kilima, Esther Kilima, Joyce Kilima and Clarisse Kilima, and 12 Grandchildren.

We know that his soul was welcomed into heaven, and he will live forever in our hearts.
