Rites Friday for DROZ

Harley DROZ, 73, 808 S. Second, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at his home.

Funeral services will be Friday, 10:30 a.m., at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Wayne Bartruff and the Rev. Charles T. Rinkel officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Family visitation will be Thursday, 7 to 8 p.m., at Behner Funeral Home.

DROZ was born Feb. 17, 1907 in Jefferson County, the son of Louis and Mabel SPEER DROZ. He married Helen HIX April 5, 1930. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Margaret BERG, Fairfield; two sons, Rober, Burlington and Doug, Kamiah, Idaho; six grandchildren; two sisters, Esther JAQUIN, Fort Worth, Tex., Blanche HENDRICKS, Fairfield; four brothers, Lloyd and Clarence DROZ, both of Fairfield, Charles, Everman, Tex., and Dale, Louisville, Ky.

DROZ was a purchasing agent for Louden Machinery Company for 30 years and a member of First United Methodist Church. A member of Boy Scouts of American (sic), he had received numerous awards through the years and was honored at a district appreciation dinner in 1979 for "30 years of outstanding service" to the Scouts, receiving the Smith Baden Powell Award.
