Joan Lucille BUCH was born May 4, 1926, in Burlington, Iowa, to John and Marie CHAMPAIGNE DUNNE. She grew up in Burlington and attended St. Paul's Catholic High School, where she graduated with the Class of 1944. On April 22, 1950, in Burlington, Iowa, she was united in marriage to Leonard William BUCH. This began a journey together that lasted over 71 years. Joan and Leonard became the loving parents of seven children: Kathy, Chris, Linda, Jeff, Tim, Dan and Nancy. Joan loved her role as a mother and always made sure things ran smoothly at home, both inside and out. She partnered her full-time job as a homemaker with selling Avon, which she did for over 30 years. Joan continued to grow her faith as a member of St. Mary Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. When Joan found time to herself, she enjoyed cross stitch, baking, reading and ceramics. She also looked forward to nights away from home with her bowling team, playing cards or attending a local dance. As time passed and her family grew, she found that her favorite way to spend time was with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Joan's memory will live on in the hearts of her family and the many friends she made along the way.

Joan was preceded in death by her parents; seven siblings, Rev. John DUNNE, Kathleen McLEAN, James DUNNE, Adrianne DUNNE, Bernard DUNNE and Anne SNYDER, as well as an infant son, Brian BUCH.

Left to share her story is her husband, Leonard BUCH of Fairfield; seven children, Kathy (Dick) REED of Hedrick, Iowa, Chris BUCH of Fairfield, Iowa, Linda (Ron) HUNERDOSSE of Fairfield, Iowa, Jeff (Sue) BUCH of Fairfield, Tim (Bobbette) BUCH of Pella, Iowa, Dan (Deb) BUCH of Fairfield, Iowa, and Nancy (Jon) HESSELTINE of Fairfield, Iowa; 19 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family and friends.
