Mrs. FRANZEN, 88, Dies Here Sunday

Mrs. Johanna FRANZEN, 88, died Sunday, March 13, 1960, at her home, 1102 North Iowa Avenue. A native of Germany, Mrs. FRANZEN came to this country at the age of 17. She had been failing in health for the last two years.

She was born March 6 (sic - March 8), 1872 near Berlin. In 1891 she was married here to Joseph FRANZEN who died in 1933. They lived in Jefferson County for 45 years before moving to Washington in 1945.

She was a member of St. James Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Funeral services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday in St. James Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph's cemetery at East Pleasant Plain.

Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Jones Funeral Home. Members of the Altar and Rosary society will attend in a group.

Survivors include seven children: Albert, Mrs. A. J. (Rose) LAHR, Leo, Anthony and Gertrude of Washington, Theodore of Floodwood, Minn., and Mrs. Mark GEVOCK (sic - Mrs. Mary GEVOCK, wife of Vincent A. GEVOCK) of Brighton; seven grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. One son preceded her in death.
