DANIEL LLOYD CARPENTER
Dallas, TX

Daniel Lloyd CARPENTER passed away on February 22, 2018, surrounded by his family.

Dan was born on January 19, 1944 in Pampa, TX to Kenneth W and Helen MITCHELL CARPENTER. Dan Spent his childhood in several towns in Iowa and South Dakota where his rather (sic - father) was the band Director for various high schools and colleges. The family moved to Fairfield in 1962 where Dr. and Mrs. CARPENTER taught at Parsons College.

Dan Completed his senior year of high school at FHS. It was in Fairfield that Dan met his future wife Kathryn GAMRATH. Their 54 year marriage produced 4 children: Page GARZA (Demetrio), Mitchell CARPENTER (Veronica), Geoffrey CARPENTER, and Kendra WEST (Ken). Dan is also survived by 3 siblings, Susan, Tom and Jan; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Dan graduated from Abilene Christian University and had a 33 year career with the Dallas Police Force as a patrol officer and investigator. He loved music and was a founder of the Dallas Police Choir and played trombone in the Dallas Police Band. As a faithful member of his church, Dallas First Presbyterian. Dan served as an elder, member of the worship committee, and sang in the church Choir.

A Celebration of Dan's life was held March 17th in the chapel of First Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be sent to The Stewpot, % First Presbyterian Church, 1835 Young Street Dallas, TX 75201 or to Kathryn CARPENTER, PO Box 450322, Garland, TX 75042
