RUTH ELAINE (LAWRENCE) CARIS
Minneapolis, MN

Ruth Elaine (LAWRENCE) CARIS, 95 of Minneapolis, Minnesota and formerly of Mt. Pleasant passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, at the Mt.Olivet (sic) Nursing Home in Minneapolis (note: in Hennepin Co., MN).

Ruth was born on March 21, 1923 in Mt. Pleasant, IA, the daughter of Mark and Mildred LAWRENCE. She was united in marriage to William E. CARIS on September 13, 1944. Ruth was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. Ruth received her BA degree from Parsons College in Elementary Education, taught in Albert Lea, MN and Rosemount, MN. Ruth enjoyed family, activities with family and friends, playing golf, Bridge, singing in the church choir and tending to her roses.

She is survived by her children: Michael CARIS (Deborah), Constance BOYD (David), Timothy CARIS (Jane) grandchildren: Jason, Jeffrey (Christine), Joshua (Stacey), Jonathan (Melissa), Jennifer, Alex (Krista), Doug and Emma and nine great-grandchildren.

Ruth was preceded in death by her loving husband of 71 years, William E. CARIS; parents, Mark and Mildred LAWRENCE; brother, Don and sister, Vivian.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018, at 1:30 p.m. at Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating, the family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. until time of service. Burial will follow in the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant (note: in Henry Co., IA). Following the services at the cemetery the family will great (sic) friends at Jerry's Restaurant in Mt. Pleasant. Memorials may be directed to the donor's choice in her memory.
