Crash Fatal To PEARSON

Raymond E. PEARSON, 44, Libertyville Route 1, was one of two men killed early today in a head-on collision on Highway 218 two miles north of LaPorte City.

Also killed was Paul Siefken, 39, of rural LaPorte City. PEARSON was enroute to his home south of Libertyville when the accident occurred. One report said Siefken's pick-up truck veered across the center line, colliding with the PEARSON car.

Services for PEARSON will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Pedrick Funeral Home in Douds. Burial will be in Fell Cemetery.

The son of Glenn and Ellen TEDROW PEARSON, he was born Nov. 2, 1931 in the Mount Zion community where he grew up.

PEARSON was graduated from Fairfield High School in 1950 and served 20 years with the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a master sergeant in 1972. He was employed as a long-distance truck driver for Kroblin Refrigerated Express at Waterloo.

He is survived by his parents and four brothers, Kenneth of Burlington, Melvin of Des Moines, Glenn Edward of Washington, D.C., and Warren at home; two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie NAVIN of Des Moines, Mrs. Virginia HANKS of New London and a grandmother, Mrs. Pearl PEARSON of Libertyville.
