Frank Hoffman, son of Christian and Margaret Hoffman, was born March 19, 1888, on a farm north of Livermore, and passed away March 25, 1959, at the age of 71 years and 6 days.

He grew to manhood in this vicinity and was married to Amelia Gronback December 28, 1908. They farmed for a time and then moved to town where he was engaged in livestock buying and then operated an implement shop for a number of years. For the past 22 years he had been a Humboldt County Supervisor and was serving as Chairman of the Board at the time of his death. He had also served as a member of the Livermore School Board and as a Township Trustee. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge.

Mr. and Mrs. Hoffman had recently celebrated their Golden Wedding anniversary at their home with an Open House for their friends and relatives.

Survivors are his wife; one son, Howard of Rutland; three daughters, Veda (Mrs. D.D. Shoemaker), Washington, D.C.; Vera (Mrs. Don Clark) Livermore; Margaret (Mrs. R.C. Richeal), Long Beach, California; eleven grandchildren; two sisters, Christine Hoffman, Des Moines; and Mrs. Anna Smith, Algona. Preceding him in death were his parents; two brothers, George and Alfred; and two sisters, Margaret and Frances.

Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian Church with Rev. Paul Stevens officiating. Soloist was Mrs. Helen Usher accompanied by Mrs. Rasmus Olson. Interment was in Union Cemetery, Livermore with Harvey Hagen, Burrell Smith, Lester Smith, Lyle Nelson, Ernest Logue and Lowell Cockrill serving as casket bearers.

(The Livermore Reporter, April 2, 1959. The Obituary says "Gronback", but having lived in Livermore, I don't remember anyone with that spelling, and know that there were people with the surname "Gronbach", and I wanted that name to be searchable.)
