Died—Joseph Kubik, one of Protivin’s old settlers, passed away Friday, Dec. 29, 1916, after a long illness. He leaves to mourn his death a wife and eleven children as follows: Mrs. John Hoshek and Mrs. John Bilek of Cresco, Mrs. Anton Strnad and Mrs. James Markovec of this place, Joseph, Chas, Thomas and John, Dakota, James, Peter and Paul of this place. He also leaves to mourn his death three sisters, Mrs. Vesely of Portland, Oregon, Mrs. Kostohryz of St. Paul, Minn. and Mrs. Frank Hoshek, residing here.
Funeral was held Sunday afternoon at Holy Trinity church, and remains were laid at rest in Peace in the Holy Trinity cemetery. Heartfelt sympathy is extended to the bereaved ones in their hour of sorrow.
