Mrs. Chris Rich, 85, died at Memorial Hospital, Mt. Pleasant, Sunday, January 25, 1970 about 2:30 A.M. Mary L, the daughter of Xavier and Rosena (Schlageter) Richenberger was born December 28, 1884. She resided at 106 South Van Buren in Mt. Pleasant and was a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church.

On March 2, 1904 she was married to Chris Rich who preceded her in death on December 31, 1967. Surviving are two sons and two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Mabel) Lane, Mt. Pleasant; Mrs. James (Sylvia) Echternacht, Des Moines; William Rich, Mt. Pleasant; Frank Rich, Des Moines; one sister, Mrs. Jesse Eicher, Wayland; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. One daughter, Mrs. Helen Davis, preceded her in death on January 8, 1970 and one son, Clarence, December 10, 1928.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 PM Wednesday January 28 at the Crane, Ewart, Young Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Rev. Glen Richard, pastor of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church and Rev. Walter Neufeld pastor of the Wayland Mennonite Church officiated. Interment was in the North Hill Cemetery.
