Wayland News – January 29, 1970

Funeral services for William D. Alliman were held Monday, January 26, 1970 at 2:00 P.M. at the Cottonwood Mennonite Church with the Rev. Don Crawford officiating. Casket bearers were Dale Alliman, Robert Alliman, John Robertson, Marvin Robertson, Jr., Larry Robertson, Earnest Hinkle, Jr., Donald Robertson, and Richard Hinkle. Final resting place was in the Cottonwood Cemetery. Military services at the graveside were in charge of Bain-Hulme Post No. 401. The Zehr Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Alliman passed away Friday, January 23, 1970 at the Muscatine General Hospital; Muscatine, Iowa. He was born May 14, 1893, the son of Lydia (Troyer) and Peter R. Alliman. He was a veteran of World War I and was married to Mae Neff June 14, 1924. She preceded him September 10, 1937.

He is survived by four children, William J., Tucson, Arizona; Duane, Winfield, Iowa; Mrs. Paul (Betty) Brewster, Muscatine, Iowa; Mrs. Albert (Wanda) Nayadley, Chattanooga, Tennessee and 16 grandchildren. Five brothers, Edward, Ft. Madison; Lloyd and Ira, Mt. Pleasant; Peter, Knoxville, Tennessee; Clarence, Orwigsbury, Pennsylvania; Donald, Las Cruces, New Mexico; four sisters, Mrs. Nettie Hinkle and Mrs Frank (Mayme) Neff, Wayland; Mrs. Eldora Schinagl, State College, Pennsylvania, and Mrs. Lydia Johnson, Long View, Washington.
