Jake Syphers, a rural mail carrier, residing in Hillsboro, committed suicide last Sunday morning by shooting himself with a shotgun. It is thought despondency of the death of his wife which occurred several years ago was the cause of his taking his life. He was about 50 years of age and resided with his aged mother.
