Carl A. Nordquist, age 76, Swedesburg, Iowa, died early Friday morning, May 11, 1984, at his residence in Swedesburg. The son of Gus and Mathilda (Burman) Nordquist, he was born March 15, 1908 at Swedesburg. On March 30, 1938 he married Margaret Anderson at Swedesburg, who survives.

He worked at the Farmers Union Exchange in Swedesburg for 45 years, retiring in 1973. He was a graduate of the Olds High School and a member of the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Margaret, Swedesburg, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Carole Kauffman, Olds, Iowa; one son, Allen Nordquist, Moline, Illinois; five grandchildren and one sisters, Mrs. Ruth Lantz, Winfield. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral services were held Monday May 14, 1984, 10:30 A.M. from the Swedesburg Evangelical Lutheran Church, Rev. Matthew Martens officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Mary Benson organist, and Mrs. Bonnie Bloom, soloist.

Honorary bearers were Kenneth Peterson, Leroy Erickson, Paul Abrahamson, Harold Anderson, and Ferdinand Larson. Casket bearers were Laverne Peterson, Roger Hanze, Vincent Lindeen, Arnold Lindeen, Dale Cox, and Darrell Schultz.

Interment was in the Swedesburg Cemetery. Funeral arrangements were made by McKasson-Honts Funeral Home, Winfield, Iowa.
