Mrs. Ruth Dorinda Harned, age 92, a former resident of the Marsh and Mt. Pleasant communities, died Thursday morning, August 4, 1983 at Sunrise Terrace Care Center, Winfield. The daughter of John and Diana (Denny) Winslow, she was born in Salem, Indiana on October 1, 1890. In 1907 she was married to Sherman J. Harned at Salem, Indiana. Mrs. Harned was very active in church related activities when able, belonging to the Methodist faith. She is survived by her husband, Sunrise Terrace; one daughter, Mrs. Lois Ross, Mt. Pleasant, ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Her body was deeded to the University of Iowa. A memorial in her memory has been established for Sunrise Terrace Care Center at McKasson-Honts Funeral Home in Winfield.
