Mrs. Abigail E. Dill was born near Springfield, Ohio December 22, 1833. She came to Iowa with her parents when a child, in the fall of 1847. She united with the Methodist Episcopal church when a young woman and the church always had a warm place in her heart.

She was married to John Dill February 14, 1861 and to them were born three children: Anna M. who is the wife of Mr. Howard Hulme of the Finley neighborhood, Laura E. dying in infancy, and Cora E. who is now at home. Mrs. Dill lived in the Finley neighborhood until the death of her husband in 1886, shortly after moving to Mt. Pleasant which as been her home since. She passed peacefully to the life beyond on March 14, 1906, age 72 years, 2 months, and 23 days. She was buried at Finley on March 15th where funeral services were conducted by Rev. S. M. Musselman.
