Henry Lyon
Henry W. Lyon, 74, of 902 W. Henry St., Mount Pleasant, died at 5:25 a.m.
Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1996, at Maple Leaf Health Care Center in Mount
Pleasant.
Born Dec. 15, 1921, in Mount Pleasant, he was the son of Peter and Cleo B.
Messer Lyon. On Feb. 15, 1953, he married Marilyn J. Reynolds in Burlington.
She died April 12, 1990.
He worked at the Burlington Northern Railroad West Burlington shops for 44
years. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in Mount Pleasant.
Survivors include two sons, Benjamin Lyon and James Lyon, both of Mount
Pleasant; one daughter, Jeanette Markus of Burlington; two grandchildren;
three brothers, Glenn J. Lyon of New Haven, Conn., and Joseph P. Lyon and
Paul H. Lyon, both of Mount Pleasant.
Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Friday at Weir Funeral Home in Mount
Pleasant. There will be no family visitation.
The funeral for Mr. Lyon will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the chapel at
Forest Home Cemetery in Mount Pleasant, the Rev. Lee Gamblin officiating.
Burial will be in Forest Home Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Maple Leaf Health Care Center
residents activity fund.
