"John Widmer, 68, Taken at Wayland. Had Been Ill for Several Months - Funeral Services Planned for Sunday at Church.

WAYLAND, June 4 - - John Widmer, 68 years old, died yesterday at his home west of Wayland. He had been in failing health for several months.

Short services are planned to be held at the Widmer home Sunday afternoon at 1:45, followed by a service in the Eicher church near Noble at 2:30. Burial will be in the Eicher cemetery. Rev Leonard Mapzder will conduct the services. The Stacy funeral home of Wayland is in charge of funeral arrangements.

Mr. Widmer was born in Germany Feb. 24, 1875, a son of Jacob and Catharine Widmer. He received his early education in Germany and came to this country 40 years ago. He was married to Sarah Graber 22 years ago.

He is survived by his wife and one son, Glenn, who is in the army service at Fort Riley, Kansas, who came home yesterday. He also leaves a brother, Peter Widmer, near Wayland, a brother, Jacob, in Germany and two sisters in France.

Mr. Widmer was a member of the Eicher Mennonite church."
