Mrs. Catherine Boshart was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania March 9, 1823. As a child she moved with her parents to Canada, where she lived until after her marriage, when she moved to Indiana, and afterwards to Iowa. In 1875 where she lived till her death. She was married to Peter E. Boshart on June 1, 1845. Mr. Boshart died August 21, 1906. When she was about 19 years old she was baptized on the confession of faith and admitted into the Mennonite church in which she remained a faithful member to her end. She died last Friday afternoon, being aged 83 years, 7 months, and 24 days. She was the mother of eight children of whom three daughters and one son survive. Besides these four children there remain to mourn her loss five sisters living in Canada, nineteen grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. She was buried on Sunday afternoon in the cemetery connected with the Sugar Creek Amish church. The funeral services were held in the Wayland Mennonite church, conducted by S. M. Musselman and P. E. Stuckey.
