Duane Stutzman age 29 passed away at his home in Mt. Pleasant early Sunday morning after an illness of about two years. Mr. Stutzman was the husband of the former Esther Eicher of Wayland.

Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant Tuesday afternoon at 2;30 with Rev. James W. Marlin assisted by Rev. S. E. Street in charge.

Mr. Stutzman was the son of Mrs. Cora Stutzman and the late Joe Stutzman of Chappell, Nebraska. Born February 18, 1922. He was raised in Chappell and graduated from Duel County High School. He was a veteran of World War II serving two and a half years in the China Burma theater. He came to Mt. Pleasant following his discharge in 1945 and on Dec. 22, 1945 was married to Esther Eicher. Since that time he was a carpenter until his health forced him to retire prematurely.

Besides his wife he is survived by their 2 ½ year old daughter, Karol Ann, his mother, Mrs. Cora Stutzman of Chappell Nebraska and a host of relatives.

He accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the Mennonite Church and then transferred his membership to the Methodist Church when he moved to Mt. Pleasant. Burial was made at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
