Terrie Lynn Palmer, 44, of Olds, formerly of Iowa City, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. Born Dec. 15, 1959, in Mount Pleasant, she was the daughter of Faylon Edward and Patricia Joanne Vaughn Palmer.

Ms. Palmer worked for Hope Haven in Burlington and the Smith Warren School in Ottumwa. She moved to Iowa City and worked in the medical records department for a physician with the Children's Hospital. She returned to make her home in Olds in 1998.

She received her education through the WACO schools and Kirkwood Community College. She was a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church in Iowa City. She enjoyed trips to Camp Sunnyside near Des Moines and was a diehard fan of the Chicago Cubs.

Survivors include her parents of Olds; three brothers, Jim Palmer of Iowa City, Steve Palmer of Washington and Eric Palmer of Burlington; three sisters, Michelle Scibetta of North Tonawana, N.Y., Dawn Shampney and Becky Fried, all of Olds; four nephews; and four nieces. She was preceded in death by her grandparents.

Visitation will be from noon to 9 p.m. today at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral for Ms. Palmer will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Weir & Kimzey Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant, with the Rev. Larry Brown of Marion Avenue Baptist Church in Washington, will officiate. Burial will be in Fulton Cemetery, Cairo, near Winfield.

Memorials have been established for Olds First Responders and Henry County Ambulance.
