Alberta B. Schrepfer, 82, of Salem, formerly of Mount Pleasant, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 15, 2005, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City. Born Feb. 17, 1923, in Stockport, she was the daughter of Joseph H. and Violet E. Harter Blakeley. On Oct. 7, 1942, she married Lawrence E. Schrepfer in Kahoka, Mo. He died Oct. 3, 2003.

Mrs. Schrepfer helped her husband on the farm where they raised turkeys and chickens. She was a 1940 graduate of Stockport High School. She loved the farm, gardening, canning and freezing. After retirement, she helped her husband cane chairs and they had a shop at their home.

Survivors include three sisters, Lorraine Jannings of Milton, Theola Savage of Burlington and Kathryn Waterman of West Burlington; one brother, Wayne Blakeley of Aurora, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, one brother and one sister.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to the time of service Friday at Beatty–Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. The funeral for Mrs. Schrepfer will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Beatty–Murphy Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Palmer officiating.

Burial will be at a later date in Winfield–Scott Township Cemetery.
