Obituary

Mrs. Olina Brekke was born in Sogn, Norway, in 1842. She was married to Ingebrigt Brekke, who preceded her in death seven years ago. To this union were born six children. They are, Ole Brekke of Stanhope, John Brekke of Radcliffe, Rev. Sjur Brekke of Chicago, Mrs. Bertha Wangsnes and Mrs. Guri Heggreness, both of Grafton, N. Dak. One son died in infancy. Besides her five children she leaves 19 grand children and five great grand children.

In 1902 Mr. and Mrs. Ingbright Brekke left Norway and came to Stanhope where they resided with their son, Ole Brekke, until her death. She had been bedfast for about 14 years.

Funeral services were held Friday, Feb. 15, at the St. Paul's Lutheran church, conducted by the Rev. Oppedal, and burial was made in the St. Paul's cemetery. The pallbearers were Peter Hove, Emmett Meyer, Ed Hove, Iver B. Iverson, Ole Madson and Torkel Oppedal. Mr. and Mrs. Theo. Hoversten, Mrs. Ben Anderson and Truman Quam sang at the funeral.

Mrs. Brekke was 87 years old when the final summons came. The many friends extend their sympathy to the bereaved.

Those who attended the funeral from out of town were Rev. Brekke of Chicago, Mr. and Mrs. John Brekke of Radcliffe, Arnold and Verle Hanson of Armstrong, and Julia Madson of Story City.
