JACOB TAIG DIED AUGUST 25TH

Jacob Taig, 76, died Sunday afternoon, Aug. 25, at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Jacobson, northwest of town, after a year or more of failing health. At his bedside at the time of his death were Mr. and Mrs. Albert E. Jacobson, Mr. and Mrs. Mervin Boyd, Mr. and Mrs. Rollie E. Goodman and Mrs. Tillie Smith.

A son of Tjernan and Trena Taig was born on Nov. 19, 1863, in Chicago, Ill. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at the age of 14. He was married to Sarah Heggen Oct. 25, 1887, and to their union was born one daughter, Martha Taig Jacobson.

Mr. Taig ran the store at Rosendale for 35 years, thus becoming well known in that territory, and since selling it five years ago had made his home with his daughter and her family. His wife preceded him in death just 13 years to the day, Aug. 26, 1927. Two brothers and four sisters also preceded him in death.

He leaves to mourn his departure his daughter, Mrs. Albert E. Jacobson and husband, four grandchildren, Ole, Arthur and Jasper Jacobson, and Mrs. Mervin Boyd, and two great grandsons; two sisters Mrs. Rollie E. Goodman of Ft. Dodge and Mrs. Tillie Smith of Des Moines, together with a large number of friends and neighbors.
