Agnes M. Shillinglaw, 94, formerly of Story City, died Saturday, Jan. 6, 2001 at the Stratford Care Center in Stratford. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral home in Story City. Visitation will be Tuesday after 3 p.m. with the family present from 6:30-8 p.m. Burial will be in the South Saint Petri Cemetery near Gilbert.

Agnes Peterson, daughter of Peter and Margaret Williamson Peterson, was born Sept. 5, 1906 near Story City. She married Peter Shillinglaw on Oct. 27, 1928 in Ames. They resided in Jewell until 1936 when they moved to near Stratford. In 1991, she moved to Story City and has resided in the Stratford Care Center since June of 1997.

Survivors are a son, Robert Shillinglaw of Ames, a daughter, Grace Boicourt of Ames, three grandchildren, Rachel Shillinglaw, Becky Dostal and Teresa Barmore; seven great-grandchildren, one sister, Gladys Clayberg, Story City. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three brothers, Carl, Annas and Melburn Peterson and one sister, Johanna Merritt.

A memorial fund has been established.
