Mrs. Henry (Doris) Tapper, 58, longtime Webster City area resident, died Tuesday at Mary Greeley hospital in Ames where she had been a patient for three weeks.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Grace United Methodist church with the Rev. Byron Surface officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. when it will be taken to the church.

Doris O'Connor, daughter of Charley and Mabel Segar O'Connor, was born July 22, 1917 on a farm northeast of Webster City. She was graduated from Webster City high school and taught at the Cass Center school.

She was married on Jan. 7, 1942 to Henry D. Tapper, and the couple farmed northeast of Kamrar until December, 1974 when they moved into Webster City.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Cousins of Olin, Iowa, Daryl H. Tapper, Des Moines and Wayne A. Tapper, Webster City; three grandchildren, Brent and Brenda Cousins and Brandon Tapper; two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Maynard Wilson of Woolstock, Mrs. Harry M. Brown, Marion O'Connor and Melvin O'Connor, all of Webster City.

She was preceded in death by one son, Michael Tapper; her parents and one sister.

She was a member of the Grace United Methodist church. She was also a member of the WSCS of the church; was currently chairman of the Charity circle; a member of the Independence Friendly Neighbors club; the Stonega club; Independence Hobby club, a past 4-H club leader and committeewoman; a member of the Webster City Women's club and educational director of the American Cancer Society, Hamilton county chapter.
