N.H. Coleman, 87, a lifelong resident of Webster City, died this morning at his home. He had been in ill health about one month.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Byron Surface officiating and with burial in the Cass Center cemetery.

Norval Howard Coleman, son of George Woodford and Cinthia Jane Etter Coleman, was born Dec. 20, 1887, in Blairsburg township. He was reared and educated in the country schools of that township.

On June 15, 1913, he was united in marriage to Edna Luetta Scheetz, and the couple farmed in Wright and Hamilton counties until 1945, when they moved to Webster City. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1948.

He is survived by four sons and three daughters: Norval (Chub) Coleman, Mrs. Albert (Margie) Lamfers, Virgil (Joe) Coleman, Mrs. Elferd (Mary) Trampel, Myrll Coleman, Richard Coleman and Mrs. Alva (Avon) Norem; 25 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother, Archie Coleman of Chicago, one sister, Lulu Tatham of LaCrosse, Wis.

He was preceded in death by his wife; one son and one daughter; one grandchild; his parents; five sisters and three half-brothers.

He was a member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge.
