Funeral services for John Tracy Congdon, 84 year old pioneer Guthrie Center merchant, will be held Friday at 2 pm from the Beidelman Funeral Home in Guthrie Center. He died Wednesday morning at the New Homestead in Guthrie Center where he had lived for the last few years.
Prior to service in World War 1, Mr. Congdon had worked in the Guthrie Center Cigar factory. Later he was in the dry cleaning business and became widely known throughout Guthrie County. He spent several years as Civil Defense Director for Guthrie County.
There are no survivors. Interment will be made in the Union Cemetery at Guthrie Center where his wife is buried.
