Funeral services for Leonard L. Coe, Longtime resident of the Wichita community, were held Tuesday at 2 pm from the Beidelman Funeral home in Guthrie Center. Rev Steven Wainwright, pastor of the Wichita United Methodist Church, officiated and Miss Lula Garnes of Bayard was organist.
Mr. Coe suffered a stroke last week and he died in the Guthrie County Hospital October 28. He was 78 years old.
Interment was made in the Wichita Cemetery. The casket was carried by John Bowers, Randy Nickel, Clayton Nickel, Merle Petersen, David Petersen and Frank Spagnola, Honorary bearers were Robert A. Bowers, Paul D. Bowers, Bud Bowers and Curtis J. Spagnola.
Mr. Coe was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Coe. His widow who survives is the former Doris Beeson. Other survivors include daughters Olivene Mrs. Merle Petersen, Guthrie Center; Mrs. Helen Murphy of Cedar Rapids; Ruby Mrs. John W Bowers, Des Moines; Laura Mrs. Oliver Nickel, Guthrie Center, and Edna Coe, Des Moines. There are 18 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren and a brother, Sanford Coe, of Monteith and a sister, Olive Kesselring of Guthrie Center.
