He is enumerated in censuses in Greene County in 1850, 1860, 1870 and 1885. His first name in the 1870 and 1885 censuses was Benjamin. From his obituary, his middle name was Frank.

B. F. ROBERTS DEAD
Prominent Druggist of Scranton Dies Wednesday
HAD BEEN ILL A LONG TIME
Funeral Will Be Held Sunday At Scranton
WILL BE BURIED AT JEFFERSON

Odd Fellows and Masons Are Asked to Cooperate With the Scranton Lodges In the Last Sad Rites.

For over a year Mr. Frank B. Roberts of Scranton has been suffering from heart disease and at times it was thought he could recover. But of late the disease hail taken the nature of a chronic difficulty and his recovery was impossible. He died at the home of J. J. Allen in Scranton, Wednesday evening at about 11 o'clock, surrounded by dear friends and relatives who could be present. At this early hour of going to press it is impossible to secure the data for an appropriate obituary of this prominent citizen of Greene county. He was born in Des Moines, July 12, 1850 and the following year came to Greene with his parents, so he can truly be said to have been one of the first pioneers. He has been in the drug business in Scranton, first learning the business in the drug store of Robert Ellis, who will be remembered by the older settlers. About two years ago his wife was taken from him in death and is peacefully sleeping in our quiet cemetery on the hill, where it was his wish he might be laid by her side. The funeral will be held Sunday at 10 o'clock at the home of J. J. Allen in Scranton. The services will be conducted by Rev. Williams of the Christian church. The Odd Fellows and Masons have been requested to take charge of the services and Scranton lodges have invited members of other orders to come to Scranton and attend the funeral and escort the funeral procession to this city. Those who can go, are requested to give their names to E. P. French and necessary arrangements can be made.
