Annette asked me to respond to your query. I live in Greene Co. IA and am a member of the local genealogy society - not a family member.

Our published marriage records indicate that John C. Brock, age 33, b. Greene Co. IA, son of Allen D. Brock and Lenora N. Cox was m. 16 Dec 1888 to Vinnie M. Goodrich, age 18, b. McHenry Co. IL, dau of Lenard H. Goodrich & Melissa Bulard.

As to John Brock's date of birth, there are no birth or death records in Iowa before 1880. Marriage records begin with the year each county was organized. For Greene Co. that was 1854. The family appears on the Greene Co. IA census for 1856. John and Elihu (a twin?) are listed as age 1 and being b. in IA. The older 7 ch. all b. Indiana - family in Iowa 1 year.
