VAN SCYOC ANY SPELLING, CLAPPER, SHIRLEY, FARLEY, FLETCHER, OAKLEY, BECKWITH

Searching for:
1) Copy of the will of Abraham Fletcher, d. ca. 1895 in Fremont Co., IA. Does he mention his wife, Sarah Farley Van Scyoc Fletcher?

2) Copy of the will of Sarah, said to be among the desc of Almira Van Scyoc BECKWITH.

3) Anyone have information as to the name of the Van Scyoc father? He is merely listed as "A".

Also Looking for information about any of these people:

I have that Sarah was married to Abraham FLETCHER in Sept of 1860 in Fremont Co., IA. They had one son, possibly named Abraham according to one researcher, who died as an infant. His first wife, and mother of his ten children (according to the Fremont Co. Biographies) was Rebecca Crouch. His nephew, son of his brother Samuel, was also named Abraham and married a relative of Rebecca, Sarah Jane Crouch.

I have that Sarah was Sarah Ann FARLEY (based on responses on 2 census records her name was Sarah Ann); and she married an "A" Van Scyoc (pick a spelling!) sometime before 1848. She had children:

Margaret Ann who married John SHIRLEY (had children William, Daisy, and one who died at 15 Louella(?)) According to Shirley family records the mother of John was Abraham Fletcher's daughter Rhoda who married Levi Shirley). Some have linked her to John Van Scyoc and wife Julia Winters but this is incorrect, John Van Scyoc's daughter Margaret married Fred Crabb (fremont Co., Biographies)

Franklin who married Lucinda OAKLEY ca 1877, was divorced by 1895 and went to CA and died there 1904 (buried ELk Creek, Glenn Co.)

Jackson who moved to CA and raised his family there (buried Glenn Co.).

Thomas Benton who married Mary C. CLAPPER in Fremont Co., IA and then moved to CA and died there 1904 (buried Elk Creek, Glenn Co.).

Almira married Benjamin BECKWITH and moved to Sheridan, WY around 1910. She was born June 1860.

I have heard from a researcher who has copies of the letters of Sarah's brother, Jackson Farley, and others, showing the parentage of Sarah as Thomas and Margaret Farley.

The mystery still remains the name of her first husband. He was "A", but claims he was named Asbury R. are unverified and often confuse the Neely Ralston Vanschoaick of Andrew Co., MO with the "A" in Fremont Co., IA. He had a wife named Sarah and a child Margaret so it was understandable the mixup.

Van Scyoc
