WILLIAM METHANY

William Curtis Methany, son of A.N. and Ruth Methany, was born in Shelby County, Iowa, April 29, 1879 and passed away at his home in Hamburg, Friday, Sept. 12, 1950, at the ageof 79 years, 4 months and 12 days. Since that time he has been a resident of this community. He spent his active life in farming and since he had been unble to do farming, he had lived in Hamburg.

He was married to Mary H. Hanson at West Plains, Missouri, April 28, 1918. Four children were born to them: Jess, Willard, Jennie (Mrs. Henry Davidson), and an infant who preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Methany, his three children, one step-son, Claude Hanson, one granddaughter, three sisters, Mary Jobe of Omaha, Katie Fletcher of Sidney, Bessie Hiatt of Hastings, Nebraska; three brothers, Dick of Council Bluffs, Jess of Chapman, Nebr., Bob of Fort Lyons, Colo., and other relatives and many old friends.

Funeral services were held at Rash Funeral Home, Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2:30 p.m., conducted by Rev. Everett Hollingshead, assisted be Rev. Earl Melton. Burial was made in the Hamburg cemetery.
