DEATH OF J.R. FOXAL

James Richard, son of James and Jane Ann Foxal, was born in Beacon, Iowa, August 15, 1883, and passed away at his home in Chariton, Iowa, September 21, 1950, at the age of 61 years, 1 month and 6 days.

As a small child he moved with his family to Wauneta, Nebr., where he lived until he was fifteen years of age. The remainder of his life was spent in Iowa. For eleven years he owned and opersted a produce station in Hamburg and it was here that he lost two children during the flu epidemic of 1918.

He was united in marriage to Beulah Ann Brown Feb. 5, 1905. Eleven children were born to this union, five of whom passed away at an early age. He is survived by his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Ardith Nook and Mrs. Gretchen Mattes of Hamburg, Mrs. Charlotte Dawson of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Mrs. Geraldine Graves of Millerton, Iowa; two sons, Wade R. of Minden, Neb., Waldo R. of Ottumwa; seven grandchildren; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Oscar of Fleming, Colo. and Lucian of Denver; two sisters, Mrs. Frank Grauberber of Denver and Mrs. Grover Wentz of Chariton, and a host of Friends.

Mr. Foxal suffered a stroke of paralysis several years ago, from which he never fully recovered. On Sunday, Sept. 17 he suffered a second stroke and death came on the following Thursday.

Funeral services were held in Chariton Saturday at 10:30 a.m., conducted by the Rev. R.W. Swick pastor of the Methodist church and the remains were brought to Hamburg, where graveside services were held at the Hamburg cemetery at 3:45 p.m., conducted by Rev. Cecil C. Latta.
