Michael J. Burke, emmigrated from Ireland c. 1847-1849 to Iowa. He met and married Catharine Martin, SEP 16, 1851, Dubuque. The first two children were b. in Dubuque, Laura Mary, b. 1854 & William Frank (Francis), b. 1856. In 1857 they moved to Johnson County, KS.
