Elmer C Nagel, 85, 2493 Hempstead St, died at 4:45 p.m. Monday Oct 25, 1993, at Mercy Health Center, St Joseph's Unit.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, where military rites will be accorded by the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Egelhof- Casper-Strueber Funeral Home, 1145 Locust St., and at 10 a.m. at the church.
Mr Nagel owned Nagel Service Station for 40 years.

He was born on Sept 2, 1908. in North Buena Vista, Iowa, son of Carl and Lona (Sawyer) Nagel. He married Evelyn Jungblut, on Dec 8, 1934, in Guttenburg, Iowa, she survives.

He was a World War ll Army veteran, having served in Japan and the Phiilippines. He was a member of the American Legion Post 6 of Dubuque.

Also surviving are a son Bill, of Dubuque, three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and two sisters, Stella Heinz, of Dubuque and Laura Irons of Canton, S.D.

A Elemer Nagel Memorial Fund has been established.
