Gene Noftsger, 70, of Kellerton died Sept. 8, 2004, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Wilson-Watson and Armstrong Funeral Home, 205 W. Monroe St., Mount Ayr. The Rev. Edward Shields will officiate the service. Burial will be in Decatur City Cemetery. Open visitation will be after 11 a.m. Friday with family present 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home in Mount Ayr.

Memorials may be directed to Kellerton First Responders.

Mr. Noftsger, son of Ruby W. (George) and Henry "Hank" Noftsger, was born Sept. 15, 1933, in Lamoni. On Feb. 2, 1952, he married Ruth A. Lemonds in Leon. He was a farmer.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Noftsger of Kellerton; sons, Morris (wife Julie) Noftsger and John (wife Darla) Noftsger, all of Tulsa, Okla.; daughters, Gayle (husband Steve) Trullinger of Mount Ayr and Ami Podzimek of Cedar Rapids; stepmother, Violet Noftsger of Lamoni; mother-in-law, Lenna Lemonds of Leon; brother, Oliver Noftsger of Des Moines; sister, Peggy (husband Melvin) Gray of Lamoni; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Don and two sisters, Roberta and Donnella.
