Hello,
I am researching my maternal grandfather's family (the McMinimee's of Crawford Cty) - the family legend is that, after their mother Sarah E. McMinimee was accidentally killed in 1885, my great-grandfather Daniel and his 7 siblings were taken in by members of the community while their father John S was away. Daniel was kidnapped (well, we have the legal adoption papers but they're a little sketchy) by the Smith family, who ran off to Nebraska. Daniel's siblings tracked him down a decade or two later - their names were Cooper, Irene, Andrew, William, John Jr., and George. If anyone has any relatives or knowledge about the McMinimee family, it would be greatly appreciated if you could please send it my way. Thank you!
