Donald Elmer Quandt 1931 - 2000

Donald Elmer Quandt was born June 3, 1931, the son of Elmer H. and Bernice Doakes Quandt. Donald was born in Plymouth County, near Sioux City, Iowa. He was baptized in infancy. He was confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church in Charter Oak, Iowa, on December 17, 1948. Donald graduated from Charter Oak High School on May 18, 1951.

He enlisted in the U.S. Navy on June 5, 1951, where following training, he served on the U.S.S. Logan. Donald received his honorable discharge from the U.S. Navy on May 18, 1955. He remained in California following his discharge, working at the Navy Shipyard at San Diego, California.

On November 11, 1955, Donald was united in marriage to Elma Dobbs. Two children, Richard and Karol, were born to this union.

On August 27, 1975, Donald was united in marriage to Mildred Webster. They continued to reside in California. In bruary, 1978, Donald and Mildred moved to Bremerton, Washington, later moving to Poulsbo, Washington. Following the death of his wife, Mildred, on April 1, 1998, Donald continued to make his home in Poulsbo. Due to ill health, Donald entered Martha and Mary Health , Poulsbo, Washington, March 1999, where he passed away on bruary 19, 2000. Private services will be held at a later date.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his sisters, Bonnie Johannsen and Mary Lou Denker and her husband, Irwin of Denison; nieces, nephews and other relatives.
